[vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_column_text]Recently I came across NOMOS. I was on a watch hunt for a friend of mine to search for a simplistic watch but still has a manufacture movement. Not a easy search this guy in particular is into minimalistic and Swedish designs to suite his needs I had a very hard time to find something.

I knew Glashütte for a little while now. The main brand Glashütte and also Lange & Shone, two really amazing brands with some fine German craftsmanship, inperticular Lange & Shone. So when I was searching Glashütte I came across NOMOS a young and very fresh brand, based in Berlin. In the free spirit and one of the most creative cities of Europe.

History

NOMOS was started in 1990 based in Glashütte, Germany. NOMOS started of with manual-winding movement, basically based on ETA movements with their own tweaks. The designs of NOMOS where always very clean and modernistic, not like the traditional brands in their time. Since 2005 NOMOS started release watches with their very own in-house movements. Therefor NOMOS reached out to the bigger manufacturer Glashütte. together with Glashütte NOMOS released in 2006 the Tangomat there first ever manufacture watch.

Current

NOMOS has grown a lot in the couple of years with watches that are not to price costly and outstanding design. One of there most iconic and well known watch is the Neomatic series with the MINIMATIK, TANGENTE, METRO, ORION and the LUDWIG. This year NOMOS introduced a new color pallet to the series called the: “champagner”. A champagne dial and strap gorgeous hand polished hands and bright orange second hands. The most amazing part is seeing the inspiration the Berlin based design studio of NOMOS Glashütte had while making this watch. The orange is coming from a orange plastic ice-cream spoon.

Is all is coming together on a brown leather strap and is running on NOMOS’s very own caliber DUW 1001. This movement is allowing the watch to run 3,5 days without rewinding![/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row full_width=”yes”][vc_column width=”1/4″][vc_single_image image=”521″][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”520″][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/4″][vc_single_image image=”522″][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_column_text]So thats a brief overview of NOMO Glashütte, is it a investment? NO, defiantly not! but it is a cool everyday watch from creative people for creative people who also love technical engineering.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
