[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Couple of weeks ago I’ve got an invitation for the IWC Pilot event in the IWC Boutique in the P.C. Hooftstraat in Amsterdam. So last night it was the presentation of all the novelties for 2016. Edwin de Vries Brand Director for the Benelux presented the event together with Christiaan Knoop who flew over directly from Schaffhausen and is head of design at IWC. After a little history lesson about the heritage of IWC and their Pilot watches, amazingly inspiring talk about the design and usability of their famous pilot watches they’ve shown most of the novelties of 2016.
Besides all the novelties there where some exceptional pieces from the IWC Museum in Schaffhausen. With also one of the first Pilot watches IWC made back in the early 1900. A great look into the history of IWC.
Straight to the novelties. IWC presented a whole fleet of new watches on SIHH. To start i want to cover the: IWC Big Pilot’s Heritage Watch, this watch is just a exact copy for the collectors of IWC. Its based on the first pilot watch they have made. The new Heritage Watch will come in a 55 an 48 mm case. The Heritage watch is a tribute to the antique B-Uhr watches manufactured by several brands (including IWC) during Second World War, for German pilots. The insanely large case was for day read during the flight and the huge crown could be used while wearing gloves.
Also the Top Gun collection got a bit of a revision and a new on the Miramar and the Chronograph. A slightly smaller case and a thinner strap to just accommodate the comfort of wearing the watch.
Little comparison of the 2 different IWC Pilot Top Gun Chronograph watches.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”454″][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”468″][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_single_image image=”469″][/vc_column][/vc_row]
